9ROYAL is a conceptual website designed to act as a visionary approach to fostering creativity and community engagement in Loudoun County, Virginia. Artists and designers could use this platform to collaborate and sell their wares to a larger audience than if they each tried to maintain their own storefront.
Since this is a conceptual website, and I designed all the items myself, I wanted to keep a product consistency. I also wanted a way to showcase some original collages I had created and thought T-shirts were a good medium to act as a middle between the two. A believable product that acts as a perfect canvas.
The simplicity of the landing page is intended to garner interest in what’s deeper into the website. In the full interactivity walk through video below, you can see that a public domain video from NASA is superimposed on the blank shirt. An interesting visual but also alluding to the diverse designs used for these product mockups.
Once the shop is entered by either the top menu navigation or by clicking the shirt on the landing page, a storefront is populated in the same space as the landing page.
Detail shot of the scrolling mechanism. Each row of products scrolls infinitely on a loop. The cursor icon changes depending on the direction of scroll based on mouse placement.

Detail of various UI elements. I think adding some playful details to a website makes the experience more memorable and a user more likely to return.
